Zach who is a YouTube star basically has taken his information from YouTube and hundreds of videos and experience with thousands of dogs and has combined everything into his book. Some of the topics that he has inside this book includes choosing the right pup for you house training; handling biting; leash pulling; jumping up; barking aggression; chewing; and other behavioral issues. He also talks about different tips and tricks that you can do. He also gives you tips for traveling and activities to enjoy with your dog. He then goes on to mention health care essentials like finding a vet and selecting the right food for your dog. This book has a lot of what you need to know to raise and care for your dog; and it will help you to bond and communicate with your best friend.
I choose this book for dog training because I do not believe in DOMINATING my dog in every way possible, as so many dog trainers like to do. This book uses gentle but consistent training to help your puppy become a well behaved dog and the methods work. The author explains the philosophy behind the training and exactly how to do it. I have been using his advice with a small King Charles Cavalier Spaniel with very good results. Television star- Brandon McMillan rescues and saves the lives of untrained, unwanted, unadoptable shelter dogs. He trains a dog and to a point where it looks to be like a miraculous transformation. He can teach a dog to master his seven common commands; and he can help the dog overcome its behavioral problems. These dogs can become well mannered pets and even service dogs The book Lucky Dog Lessons starts out with the basics test which include building trust; getting control; and mastering certain training techniques. Then McMillan helps the dog to become playful. He also uses seven commands when he trains and teaches every dog which includes sit, stay, and lie down. He also provides solutions to different behavioral problems to include house training issues; chewing; barking; and meal time misbehaviors. The book includes easy to follow steps and illustrates examples. Brandon McMillan also uses photographs to demonstrate techniques that he shows you throughout his book. Brandon believes that all dogs are worth saving; and that if you love and be positive then your dog is going to be successful as well as you.
I can’t tell you how relieved I am to finally find a dog training book worth reading and implementing into our training. It seems like so many mainstream trainers out there try to focus on one end of the spectrum or the other when it comes to reinforcement, reward, punishment, etc. Either they advise the traditional and outdated approach of the “pack leader” mentality and recommend methods that are borderline animal cruelty like Cesar Milan from the Dog Whisperer, or they have the overly positive reinforcement approach and think repetition is the secret to success rather than trying an alternate approach. Zac George’s book had this approach and it felt like one of those parents that thinks every child deserves a trophy simply for participating rather than earning their reward…-Amazon Review By Jason
