Now, having reached the conclusion of this tale, I stand entertained, inspired, and deeply moved. You see, to me, IT is not simply an epic horror tale; I feel that is also a powerful odyssey of friendship, belonging, coming of age...and love. From the late 1950s to the mid-1980s, the narrative chronicles the lives and times of a group of young pre-teens growing up in the small town of Derry, Maine. These young people are brought together by fate and circumstance to forge a fundamental bond, upon which is built not only all of their intense and complicated interpersonal relationships but, ultimately, their shared commitment to confront an unearthly monster that has, for generations, stalked and murdered Derry's residents --- especially children. If It Bleeds- A Horror Book By Stephen King
If you are looking for one of the best horror books that has a subject matter of evil which is written by Steven King then this is one of them. You get four horror tales all rolled up into one which King has once again mastered. In this book one of the main characters must face their fears on her own; another character has a disturbing afterlife; and in another part of this book a writer must deal with the darker side of ambition.
I will preface this review by confessing that I am a massive Stephen King fan. I read everything the man puts out, for better or worse. I will also add that his novellas and short stories are among my personal favorites.
So, having said all that, IF IT BLEEDS is another 5-star contribution from a master storyteller. Each story is unique, and yet there is still an underlying theme that threads them together. I will add some of my quick thoughts about each piece…..Amazon Review By Joshua Jorgensen
Stephen King 's -The Shining
If you have never seen this movie before; then get this book because it is better than the movie and will keep you at the tip of your seat. One of the main character’s (Jack Torrence) gets a fresh start with life by working at the overlook hotel..(Or does he?..) In this book Jack Torrence reconnects with his family as he is also working on his writing. However, sinister things are happening in this house and his son, Danny Torrence, a gifted 5 year old is the only one to notice the strange and terrible forces that is gathering around them.
Wow, was really pleased with this book! I’ve always watched Stephen King movies over the years but recently I started to finally read the original novels. First, it is a very long book but the amount of detail in the original story is definitely not included in the film! I Iove Stanley Kubrick’s take on the film & it’s one of my all time favorite movies but I definitely thought it was cool to see the original story in some ways are quite different and makes it an interesting read. For instance there is MUCH MORE detail describing the relationship between Jack & Wendi..much more detail about Jack & Wendi’s backgrounds & Jack in the novel was really a much bigger @hole! There was also a bunch of character differences such as how they look & their personalities which the film version changes. Anyway it was a fun read & I can’t wait to read it again!!-Amazon Review by David Falzano
Stephen King- The Outsider
If you are looking for a book that will keep you on your toes and if you are into the supernatural then this is the book for you. Everything kicks off when an eleven-year-old boy’s violated corpse is discovered. Terry Maitland who is the Little League coach, an English teacher, husband and the father of two girls becomes the main culprit and is arrested because his fingerprints and other evidence points to him. However, has he been mistakenly accused? Or are there other things in this book that can be the blame for the death of this young boy? You have to get this book and find out.
When I post reviews of Stephen King, I quite often rate it at five stars and, consequently, many people assume I’m just another King groupie. If you are one of these, you might still find a reason to appreciate my take on this latest work by the master of horror, because this story goes into something much more than just horror.
