Genius Tricks That'll Make Cleaning Up Pet Hair Seem Like A Breeze!

If you’re a pet owner, there’s a good chance you know the struggle of trying to keep your furniture looking and feeling clean. But no matter how often you vacuum, brush, or wipe down your furniture, it can still seem like pet hair is everywhere! Fortunately, there are several easy ways to remove pet hair from furniture without having to resort to harsh chemicals or expensive cleaning services.

Vacuuming

Regular vacuuming is one of the best ways to clean up pet hair from furniture. Make sure that you use an attachment with a rubber edge so that it can pick up the embedded hairs in between cushions and along seams. Be sure to also use a high-efficiency air filter bag in your vacuum cleaner to prevent the fur from being released back into the air.

Static Cloth

Static cloths are another great option for removing pet hair from furniture. These cloths contain special fibers that create static electricity when they rub against each other which causes pet fur to cling to them. All you have to do is run it over any surface and the static will attract all of the loose fur. This method is especially effective on fabrics such as microfiber and velvet due to their soft texture and low friction.

Damp Sponge

A damp sponge can be used for removing stubborn pet hairs that just won’t budge with vacuuming or static cloths. Simply soak a sponge in warm water and then wring out excess moisture before running it along any fabric surfaces where fur has collected. The dampness helps break down any oils or dirt in the fur which makes it easier for it to adhere to the sponge as you pass by each area multiple times until all of the fur has been removed.

Rubber Gloves

Another method is to wear rubber gloves while running them over the fabric on your furniture in order to lift any remaining fur stuck in the fibers. The rubber will cause static electricity which will attract all those pesky strands of fur out of hiding! Just make sure you dispose of the gloves when done because they will get really hairy!

Using a Lint Roller or Tape

Surprisingly enough, tape or lint rollers are great at gathering up pet hair quickly and effectively. You could use masking tape rolled into small balls (biting off small pieces as needed), or double-sided tape wrapped around your hand will do the trick too!
